How To: Watch Free TV Online (Part 1)

Hate missing The Office every Thursday? Tired of coming home after a long day of work/school only to remember that you missed the first half hour of House, MD? How about that great special by Barbara Walters? Didn't see it? Me neither. And ever since the Writer's Guild of America decided to stick-it-to-the-man by going on strike, we've all suffered without our TV fix. Thankfully, several sites have popped up all over the interwebs (sans TV-Links). This way, at least, we can watch missed episodes earlier in the season. Here's a few of the best:

TVU Player - After installation of a viewer that works through Windows Media Player, you'll be able to watch all the major television stations in better-than-youtube quality. The program (and site) are maintained in mainland China while the shows (like Family Guy, on the Family Guy 24/7 Channel) are from all over the world. It's a great player and a great way to keep up with your major shows. Windows XP only.

Wwitv - lets you watch 1000+ free Internet TV stations on your PC. You can play most of stream formats in one program. Although 56K Internet connection is adequate, a high-speed Internet connection will deliver superior audio and video quality. You can even watch shows in full-screen mode!

Beelinetv - provides a selection of the best broadband internet television channels. To watch the internet TV channels on Windows- or on a Macintosh computer you can use Windows Media Player for ‘Media’ streams, Real Player for ‘Real’ streams and Apple’s Quicktime Player for ‘Qtime’ streams.

PPLive - is free shareware, and integrates the most advanced peer-to-peer technology so it provides the users with the smoothest TV programs without interruptions. Just like in P2P technology, however, all PPLive viewers become broadcasters themselves thus reducing the cost of traditional streaming.
