I spotted the mythical cubed-shaped watermelon while in Tokyo. There are several other shapes that the Japanese have thought of too! The oddly-shaped watermelon retails from 10,000 yen to 20,000 yen ($83 to $174 USD) and usually caters to the fashion-conscious. Cube watermelons gets their shape from the progressive glass cases that farmers place them in while growing.
