Wiimote Project: VR Head Tracking

Sounds cool, right? It looks even cooler.

The youtube video below shows Johnny lee of Carnegie Mellon University demonstrating a very straightforward head tracking program that utilizes 1) the built-in IR camera on the wiimote (connected via bluetooth to this desktop), 2) a feed from his pc to a tv screen, and 3) a pair of glasses modified to shoot IR lights on either side. Essentially it reverses the normal input delivery using the IR lights as input and the wiimote like a sensor bar.

I hope, like Johnny says, that Nintendo Wii game developers create peripherals and games featuring this innovated technology too.
